It is important for you to know how to professionally clip – or remove your background from your photo, if you are going to make great Photo-Art.  You see clipped photos. Every day. They are used on Amazon websites and other ecommerce stores. Clipped photos are also often immersed into other pictures like YouTube thumbnails and even movie posters. These clipped photos can also be an excellent starting point for your book, your album cover, your website or other graphic material that you use to promote your products or services.

Clipping a photo is often referred to as Removing the Background (Although they are not technically the same process).  If you look at a Photo-Editing company, you will also see words such as “Clipping Path” or “Clipping Service”.  You will also see that they charge $35 to $50 just to remove the background.

Now I have researched these services, beware that are getting what you pay for. It’s like going in for an oil change. It will take more than just $35 for your picture to go from this to this.  There are many undisclosed steps it will take to achieve these results.  If you are really interested in having these services done for you, please check out our ‘Simplified Pricing’ page.

Our process is different because our first step is to carefully analyze your favorite photo of yourself.  Then we make recommendations based on our “Three Tired Pricing Model”.  Not only do we make the recommendations, we also send you a photo proof so you can “See The Difference”.

You simply select which photo you want produced from your picture and we do the rest – it’s just that simple.

I have worked in Marketing for over a decade and have created hundreds of pieces of Photo-Art that have been used in print publications, Web Production and in TV and Video broadcasting.  Even after completing all these pictures. Clipping my photos still requires patience, focus and concentration.

I am amazed when I look at these free app offering to remove your background.  I have tried several of them in hopes that they would save me time.  In my option as a professional Photo-Editor, these programs simply do not work. At the onset, they look great.  There is only a little bit of the sky in someone’s hair, but that can cause major problems using the picture later.

As you will see in my clipping tutorial, I zoom in 200 or 300 percent when I am removing the background of the photo.  When I do this, I discover smaller discolorations that will “throw off” my picture and make it obvious that I stuck the picture into another photo. One of the most difficult areas To remove the background from is curly textured hair.

And all my years of working with a variety of. Photo editing software, I have come to realize that you do get what you pay for. All background removal products are not created equal. It is very necessary to do a very careful job in Removing your background. Many programs offer to do it for free may produce results that have raggedy edges and other telltale signs.

If your true intention is to produce high-quality graphics and images of yourself, find applications that allows you to manually remove the background and zoom in on your picture.

In my clipping tutorial, I do this in Photoshop.  However, any program with an erasing tool, a zoom feature and the ability to export a photo with an alpha channel (like a PNG File) can get the job done.

My favorite photo editing program to work in is Adobe Photoshop. Although I am not a brand ambassador for Adobe, I am very enthusiastic about the creative options that I have working with many adobe products. I am amazed to see many people love spending money on new equipment and gadgets, but then they don’t want to invest any money in professional video or photo editing software.

You will get better results by NOT buying new equipment right away.  It is better to use your phone camera and invest your money in professional applications – you will get better results!

I find that some new creators try to spend money on equipment. However, they refuse to spend money on professional programs that produce their artwork. As a Professional I promise you that spending money on a professional program is more beneficial than purchasing new equipment.  You might be amazed  at the results you can get by just using the camera on your phone and a good computer.

In the Clipping Video Tutorial, we will be jumping into Photoshop to show you the exact process I use to professionally remove the background from my pictures. The work I have done has been featured on Television broadcasts and even large flyers and banners.  So you can trust that this process will give you excellent results.
